Workspace near rivers, canals and docks is more likely to stimulate staff and make them work harder, according to research by Glasgow Caledonian University.

Spokeswoman Dr Cynthia McVey told Ananova:

"People who can look out of their office windows across water feel less confined by their workplace.

"They are more likely to feel positive about their work and more valued."
