The University of Glamorgan's graduates had more 'active' start ups than any other UK university. It had 88 firms started by graduates that were still trading after three years.

University spokesman Alun Hughes said:

"There is a long tradition of this institution's commitment to forging strong industry links, going back to its early days as a school of mines."

The research was carried out by the Higher Education Funding Council for England on behalf of all of the UK's higher education funding bodies.
