A pub in Cumbria is among the contenders for the title of best Post Office branch 2006.

Post Offices are no longer simply places where you can buy stamps, as entrants for this year's favourite Post Office branch awards demonstrate.

Customers at The Horse and Farrier pub in Dacre near Penrith, Cumbria can post a parcel while they buy a pint, while other unusual Post Office branches in the running for awards include a goat farm and a church.
