G'day divas

Two entrepreneurial opera singers have started singing from the same hymn sheet as the business world.

Anitra Blaxhall and Daniella Ehrlich, who are both Australian and members of the Welsh National Opera (WNO), have started up Operacatz to provide corporate entertainment.

The part-time business, worked around their 'real' jobs with WNO, has proved so successful they're considering recruiting more opera singers to meet demand. Even though they can earn £1,500 for a performance, the pair say it's not about the money - it's about showing that opera is fun.

Anitra told icWales:

"At first, business audiences can be quite shocked by our approach; after all it's not often you see two divas clad in PVC catsuits performing Wagner, but they soon warm up and join in."
