Shellfish surge
London foodies are being credited with reviving the taste for local seafood in Norfolk.
Although Brancaster Staithe has been famous for its crabs, oysters and mussels since the 1880s, demand had tailed off over recent years.
Now, though, the fashion for locally sourced food has led to a surge in demand at the village's restaurants and hotels - and a new lease of life for the local fishing industry.
There are plans for a £1 million redevelopment of the quayside, which would allow better facilities to be used and therefore mean that fishermen could charge higher prices for their produce, the Eastern Daily Press reported.
