SBS must be axed
A business lobby group is demanding that the Government axes its Small Business Service (SBS).
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) says the SBS has had £79.3 million ploughed into it - but claims the organisation has made little impression on small businesses.
Director-general David Frost said:
"In our view, much of that money has been wasted: firms up and down the country have suffered six years of failure on enterprise policy and despite many warm words from a long line of Government Ministers, tangible support for small firms has been woeful."
The BCC has come up with a number of points, based on its own research, which it says "tells the full story of failure and under-performance at the SBS".
