Home firms choose VoIP
Businesses based at home are more likely to try new technologies like Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
The study, which was carried out in the US by the International Data Corporation (IDC), found people working from home were much more likely to use the technology than ordinary householders.
However, they're more likely to use it as an add-on, rather than relying exclusively on the system.
Spokeswoman Julie Wall told Freelance UK:
"Service providers offering hosted VoIP services to enterprise have the potential opportunity to transform the business voice market."
