PayPal is warning UK businesses to establish a presence online or risk missing out on valuable profits, with figures suggesting that consumer spending online will reach £39 billion by 2010.

The 'Seven Building Blocks of E-commerce' guide features practical screen shots and helpful hints for different business sectors. PayPal's head of merchant services, Carl Olav Scheible, said:

"Over the past few years we've seen the Internet gradually eating away at the high street. By 2010, we expect substantial sums, previously spent on the high street, to have moved online.

We have worked closely with the market experts to produce a simple but effective guide which can provide SMEs with the essential toolkit many of them are lacking."
