Building a place for women
More women are being urged to get involved in traditional male-dominated businesses like joinery and plumbing.
JIVE has been set up to persuade women into careers in the construction, engineering, science and technology sectors.
North West-based building maintenance firm Jackson Lloyd has taken the advice to heart and has appointed a female 'ambassador' to recruit more women.
Jane Spellacy has taken the role and she told icLiverpool:
"There has been a massive expansion in the construction industry in the North West over the last decade and we are aware there are some very talented women out there who may not traditionally consider joining a building firm."
