Broadband breakthrough
More great news for Internet-based ventures or those selling online - potential customers are now surfing the web for around 50 days a year.
The figures for Britain's 10 million broadband users also revealed 87% shopped online and 78% used Internet banking.
The survey was carried out for uSwitch.com, which said 70,000 more homes sign up for broadband every week.
Spokesman Chris Williams told the BBC:
"The uptake of broadband in the last 18 months has been nothing short of explosive and this will continue especially with the constant innovation in the market."
