Beery good idea

Real ale breweries are attempting to persuade more drinkers to give their product a go by taking a leaf out of wine producers' vines.

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has joined forces with 14 real ale brewers to produce 'tasting notes'.

They've put together beer mats and posters describing how sweet or bitter each drink is, and like the wine producers, they also try to describe the taste of the beer.

CAMRA's Tony Jerome told The Guardian:

"There are approximately 2,500 real ales on today's market and it is impossible for everybody to know what each beer looks, smells and tastes like."
