Search for top chippies
Britain's best chippies are priming themselves - in case that awkward customer is a 'mystery judge' in this year's National Fish & Chip Shop of the Year competition.
Mystery judges are visiting all the shortlisted chippies between now and September, when the regional champions will be announced.
Andy Gray, from contest organiser Seafish, said:
"Quality and service within the fish and chip shop industry continues to rise and it's important that the hard work of the shops is recognised."
The UK's chip shop industry is worth £1.2 billion annually, making it the nation's favourite takeaway.
