No more long hours for UK firms?

Britain's reputation as a country where long, uncompromising working hours are the norm could be about to take a battering.

Apparently, British firms are now top of the European league when it comes to offering flexible hours and the option to work from home.

A report by the University of Nottingham's Enterprise and Innovation Institute found that more than 75% of employers thought this type of working made staff more productive.

It's an abrupt about-turn on 2002, when a similar survey found firms thought flexible working would damage business.
