Turf wars in pub rush to attract punters
When England face Ecuador in the World Cup second round clash today, a Norfolk pub landlord is confident his bar will be packed.
Mark Wenn has laid 96 sq m of turf over the carpet in the New Inn in King's Lynn - and he reckons it really gives him the edge over his rivals.
He told The Publican:
"My customers think I'm barmy but the effort is definitely paying off. We were packed for England's first match and we've been busy for every game."
Mark keeps the turf looking pristine by watering it, then brushing it every evening.
