Technology boost for recruitment
Sourcing candidates for a job via websites like Monster is old news, but today's Springwise trend-watching newsletter reports on a new trend in recruitment technology - e-interviewing.
Browsing CVs online is now standard practice for many businesses, but now firms can take advantage of a new service offering them the opportunity to grill candidates over the web as well. HireVue enables interviewers to watch via a webcam as candidates respond to a set of specific questions, gauging how well they perform before deciding whether to invite them for a face-to-face session.
This 'pre-interviewing' technique gives businesses the advantage of time and money saved - there's no need to sift through CVs and spend time on first interviews - which in turn enables them to cast their net wider and screen more candidates. Other bonuses include the ability to compare the videos of different candidates - an ideal way to refresh the memory of an interview without having to rely on subjective written notes.
