Rates relief reminder

Small firms are missing out on money that could keep struggling businesses afloat.

Around half of Britain's small enterprises aren't claiming business rates relief, according to the Local Government Association (LGA).

It says some firms' rates bills could be cut by up to £2,500. There is still £400 million waiting to be claimed.

Chairman of the LGA, Sir Sandy Bruce-Lockhart told icLiverpool:

"Hundreds of millions of pounds is sitting around waiting to be claimed by hard-pressed bosses of small firms."
