Mobile Wi-Fi
Business travellers using some train services will now be able to take advantage of Wi-Fi services being fitted by two train firms.
Southern Trains and T-Mobile are running a service on the London to Brighton line, using masts alongside the tracks which allow passengers with handheld devices or laptops to go online.
Virgin Trains is now launching a similar service with Qinetiq on the west coast mainline service. This service uses equipment on the train to provide a service through Wi-Fi short-range wireless technology, The Guardian reported.
