The rise and rise of the mumpreneurs
Increasing numbers of new mums are setting up their own businesses so they can look after their children - and earn a decent living at the same time.
Dubbed mumpreneurs, many of the self-employed mothers have come up with products they - and other mums - would use.
Caroline Baker from Denbighshire is behind a bracelet that allows expectant women to keep tabs on how often their babies kick, while Mandy Haberman from South Wales invented a non-spill cup after her daughter had problems with a conventional one.
Bev Pold, from Welsh development agency Chwarae Teg, told icWales:
"Many women find that running a business after having a family gives them the flexibility needed to juggle work and home commitments."Our research has shown that one of the main motivating factors for women starting businesses is independence, linked to the need for flexibility to manage home, family and work."
