Sporting worries for homeworking staff

Firms that allow their staff to work from home over the summer must be able to trust them not to spend all day in front of the telly watching the World Cup and Wimbledon.

That's according to online communications company Inclarity, which is advising firms to come up with a 'Pact of Trust', laying out guidelines and time-tracking measures.

Inclarity's Paul Anthony Beaumont says:

"Strict policies need to be devised to ensure that those working from home really are being productive.

"It's not a case of Big Brother, with businesses spying on their staff, it's more a question of building up trust so that staff can work flexibly and better balance their work and personal responsibilities."
