Non-footie fans could cause trouble, too

Businesses that allow staff to watch the World Cup at work could be in for some stick from non-football fans.

Around two-thirds of firms are planning to screen matches at work, to avoid sickies and 'duvet days', according to recruitment firm Nigel Lynn.

But the firm reckons catering for the football loving masses could be a legal minefield, with people who don't like footie wanting time off in lieu, and foreign staff obviously wanting to watch their team play.
