Must have excellent disorganisation skills
Businesses need to become more disorganised if they want to retain staff, according to research commissioned by Demos and Orange.
The report, entitled 'Disorganisation', suggests that employees increasingly want to work for small firms that don’t feel too organised, and are structurally more like a network than a hierarchy.
The research reports that people want to work for businesses that offer greater flexibility and independence, and make room for individual lifestyles.
But there is still some way to go though before employees and employers reach a happy medium, as the poll also shows that while 85% of respondents thought flexible working would increase their job satisfaction, only 59% of business owners said they would allow their staff to work flexibly.
