Become a business goddess
Women who have overcome adversity to start their own firms are being given the chance to become business goddesses.
The Everywoman Awards, run by NatWest bank and backed by the Financial Mail, are looking for female entrepreneurs to enter this year's competition.
Each category, based on age, is named after a Greek goddess. A former winner of the Demeter category - named after the goddess of the harvest - was 32-year-old Jane Williams, who runs Jane's Ironing Service in Truro, Cornwall.
She says her business has doubled in size and she has taken on four staff since she picked up her gong. The deadline for this year's awards is 29 August, and businesses have to have been trading for at least a year to be eligible.
