Beauticians, florists and hairdressers are among the happiest workers in the UK, mainly because their job allows them to meet a lot of new people and feel appreciated, according to the City and Guilds Happiness Index.
But their white collar counterparts - IT specialists, lawyers and civil servants - are the unhappiest in their jobs, claiming long hours and poor pay as the reasons.
