Don't forget small business, councillors urged
Candidates in next month's local council elections are being urged to put the needs of small businesses at the forefront of their campaigns.
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has put together an eight-point plan, which it says councillors and would-be candidates should take note of. It covers issues such as consultation, transport, crime and planning.
FSB spokesman Roger Culcheth said:
“Small business owners are also voters. We urge all candidates to commit to working with the local business community.“Therefore, local government election candidates need to remember that the wellbeing of their area depends on successful small businesses. Our manifesto makes clear what small firms want from their council. We expect candidates to deliver.
